Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, operator of Rivers Casino Philadelphia, has received a $60,000 fine after the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) found multiple incidents of underage gambling within the property.

A PGCB investigation found three instances in which individuals under the age of 21 were able to access the casino’s gaming floor to wager.

One 20-year-old female and two 20-year-old males were able to access the gaming floor and place wagers on either slot machines or table games, with the female also being served alcohol.

The fines were the result of board approvals at the public meeting of consent agreements between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Council and Sugarhouse HSP Gaming.

The PGCB issued fines totalling $120,000 to two casino operators in October for underage gaming violations and allowing employees to work with expired gaming licenses.

Downs Racing, operator of Mohegan Sun Pocono, and Washington Trotting Association, operator of Meadows Racetrack and Casino, were fined $110,000 and $10,000 respectively.

Total Pennsylvania gaming and fantasy revenue was $292.1m last month, a growth of 13% year-on-year.

This was boosted by sports betting, which saw handle of $316.5m, a 31% rise month-on-month.
